Social worker
What I do
As a Māori social worker, I bring a culturally grounded, holistic approach to supporting whānau, hapū, and iwi. My practice is shaped by Te Ao Māori values, recognising the interconnectedness of wairua (spirit), hinengaro (mind), tinana (body), and whānau (family). I work in partnership with individuals and communities to uplift mana, restore balance, and foster resilience. Guided by kaupapa Māori principles and a strengths-based lens, I advocate for culturally safe, inclusive, and empowering pathways. Whether navigating complex systems or walking alongside whānau through healing journeys, I honour whakapapa, uphold tikanga, and strive to create spaces where identity and wellbeing are affirmed. Whāia te iti kahurangi, ki te tūohu koe, me he maunga teitei Pursue that which is precious, and if you stumble, let it be to a lofty mountain. This whakataukī reflects my commitment to striving for excellence and supporting others to reach their highest potential, even in the face of adversity.
