Kia ora! I mainly work with women, young people, and members of the rainbow community. I have experience in work in child protection cases, family and intimate partner violence, working with the rainbow community, and youth counselling. I have also worked with parents experiencing challenges with their relationship with their child(ren) and considering different approaches. My style is holistic and I enjoy working alongside clients to co-develop a plan that works for you. This often includes strength-based work and consideration for all the macro and micro factors in any given situation. Part of this includes thinking about he things we can control and acknowledging those that we can't, but that do impact our lives. I have accumulated over 20 years of experience in the field of social services, where I have dealt with a wide range of complex issues such as mental health, addictions, co-existing problems, high-risk family harm, and the management of community agencies and teams. My expertise lies in handling challenging situations that require a well-balanced approach. I am a Registered Social Worker with 5 years work experience in Mental Health, now specialising in Eating Disorders, Disordered Eating and Body Image work. I provide evidence-based tools from the CBT, ACT and DBT models, tailored specifically for eating disorders to support clients wanting to break free from disordered eating and negative body image.
