Kia ora, my name is Rebekah, I'm 31 and I am a qualified counsellor based in Christchurch. I offer in-person sessions in Christchurch and online counselling throughout New Zealand, working with a vast range of ages and presenting challenges. I strive to provide an environment that feels safe, welcoming and not too serious where our sessions not only consist of exploring your issue at depth, but also allow for moments of laughter and genuine connection to naturally emerge alongside our work. I aim to provide not only tools, but also a trusting client/counsellor relationship that in itself can also facilitate growth. Having been to counselling myself, I know how it feels to sit in the clients chair. This enhances my practice where I can meet my clients with a lived understanding of the vulnerability and emotional honesty required.

I’m Janina, a Masters qualified counselling therapist based in Cromwell, Central Otago, offering in-person and online counselling across New Zealand. I use a pluralistic counselling approach, which simply means there’s no one-size-fits-all method. Together, we find what feels right for you – combining evidence-based practices like Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Person-Centred Therapy with culturally attuned perspectives. My sessions are guided by open communication, shared decision-making, and collaboration. For me, counselling is about creating a safe, welcoming space where you can bring all parts of yourself – the strong, the uncertain, and everything in between.

I’m a trauma-informed counsellor (provisional NZAC) based in Christchurch/Selwyn. I support individuals navigating the impacts of family violence and sexual harm, offering a safe a steady space to explore, heal, and reconnect with a sense of self. My work is relational, client-led, and grounded in compassion.

I am a registered counselling psychologist working alongside children, adolescents, and adults with a history of trauma from family harm and sexual harm. Other common issues include stress, anxiety, depression, grief, appearance concerns, and life transitions. I am trained in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy skills for adolescents and families (DBT-A), and draw from a range of evidence-based modalities suited to each clients needs. I offer both brief, skills-focused interventions and longer-term therapy. Session hours are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday 4.30pm - 6.30pm. and weekend days.

I work with young people (14 years and older) and adults of all ages, genders and ethnicities. Most of my work has centred around helping clients to overcome trauma and grief. I have extensive experience with those who have experienced the loss of a loved one from suicide. I have completed a three year post-graduate programme in, and work predominantly from, a transactional analysis perspective. Although I can do brief interventions, I prefer long term depth work with client those who have complex presentations. Note that I have offices in both Lower and Upper Hutt.

With over 20 years of experience as a counsellor, coach, trainer and professional supervisor, Mandy brings both empathy and real-world insight to her work. Mandy works with women who are managing a lot, often stretched between roles, responsibilities and expectations, yet still feeling unseen, stuck, or unsure where to begin. Mandy’s sessions are a chance to step back, gather your thoughts, and feel supported. Through a thoughtful mix of conversation, practical tools and emotional clarity, Mandy helps clients rebuild confidence, gain insight, and move forward in a way that feels supportive and true to who they are.

I use a child-led approach that allows children to feel safe, understood, and to grow at their own pace. I view behaviour as communication and support children in expressing and understanding their needs through play, art, and symbolic expression. My practice is informed by training in Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy (Honours), DDP Level 2, TI-CBT, PVT, and Art Therapy. Guided by DDP’s principles of playfulness, acceptance, curiosity, and empathy, I work with children experiencing anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, attachment and peer relationship difficulties and trauma, alongside families and systems, to restore safety, build trust, and foster emotional growth.

Allison has worked in public and private mental healthcare settings over the past decade. She is an experienced and skilled psychologist who supports adults and draws on a range of evidence-based therapy models to inform her psychological practice. Allison works in collaboration with her clients to promote and maintain wellness which include increasing symptom management, reducing disability and distress, addressing underlying difficulties, maximizing self-care, developing coping skills, strengthening protective factors, and improving quality of life. Allison acknowledges the need to identify therapy targets quickly to alleviate distress and the importance of the therapeutic relationship built on understanding, warmth, and trust. I am a narrative therapist who feels passionate about supporting people to navigate their way through difficult times. My practice creates collaborative conversations in a safe, trusting and respectful environment. I use a holistic approach to understand the challenges people face in every facet of their lives, to help uncover the strengths and values required to frame a way forward. Together we can explore the tools and resources required to start healing and managing those challenges. I work with children, adults, and couples to address any problem ranging from relationship and family issues, parenting concerns, mental health problems (including anxiety, depression), grief, work related problems, peer support, and trauma. I have experience working with people 18 years and over. I practice with a Person-Centred Approach and also use other modalities which include Narrative Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Transactional Analysis and Little figures therapy. I offer a relaxed, safe and non-judgemental atmosphere where you can allow yourself to explore the challenges you face and find acceptance with the past and things that cant be changed. I will walk with you through your struggles and assist you in finding a sense of understanding and peace. You decide the pace and what you are ready to talk about in the session.

I work through a psychodynamic lens, with a particular interest in how early relationships and life experiences shape who we are and how we relate to the world around us. My approach is grounded in the belief that through deep reflection on our personal stories, we can better understand ourselves and move towards meaningful change. My first priority is always the relationship with my client. I aim to create a safe, supportive environment where clients feel comfortable to explore and grow. I specialize in mental health, trauma and neurodiversity. Perhaps you are overwhelmed with depression or anxiety, feel helpless or hopeless and you want to get yourself back again - enjoy life? Or are you experiencing conflict, relationship issues, self-esteem issues or stress and need help and support at this time? Together we can find a way forward. I am the author of the "Out of the Fog" programme delivered in group and individual therapy which has helped hundreds of people to recover/become well from depression/anxiety. I have helped people to identify what is holding them back in their life and move beyond it, set achievable goals, and experience a more fulfilling life.
